We stayed in Culver City’s art district, an LA suburb, and about 5 miles from the coast. The trip was littered with “they filmed Gone with the Wind here” and “oh lookie, the front gates of the Playboy Mansion” and “that was the kid who said ‘the snozberries taste like snozberries‘ in Supertroopers”. Being familiar with one city, LA was a lot more vibrant, arty and floral than I expected. Oh, and the beaches were nice.
I don’t think I need to emphasize that a break from the norm is healthy, and a vacation in California is drop-jaw, stand-back, take-it-in amazing, but let me tell you; it is. Beyond the newness and all that was some personal growth. A lesson from the pages of the you-can-do-anything mantra. I came back east with some confidence and about a thousand photographs.
To edit these….I went through them all and removed half. Placed 84 in a ‘waiting to be edited’ folder, then photoshopped them in all sorts of styles. Go ahead, have a look-see…
